Recently, the studio has been working on several audio restoration projects, some of which contained fascinating stories of family history!  Unfortunately, a couple of the recordings were affected by significant technical issues and I got thinking, wouldn't it be cool if the studio offered high quality recording specialized for this type of thing?  Well I thought so, and then a new Loud Sun Studio service was born, behold!

Studio Upgrade!

Well it's 2013 and it has been a busy start to the year in the studio so far! Among some projects getting finished up this month are records from John Doney and Redwing Blackbird. This last Saturday night, Destare, in Fitchburg, MA, featured a premier screening of MovieLand Production's 'The Reception.' It was quite exciting to see/ hear the profound role played by Jentri Provenzano's film score, recorded at her home studio and mixed at Loud Sun. Meanwhile at the studio, Zach Benton continues to work on his debut full length effort, Death to Tyrants move forward on some additional recording for a new piece, and multiple other projects continue to develop.

In other news, the studio has made a significant upgrade and added a subwoofer to the monitoring system! The Yamaha HS10w sub is made to integrate with the HS50m, currently the main monitor speakers in the studio. So far, the HS10w has been a great addition. With the sub's volume turned up only slightly, a nice bottom end of the mix is revealed, which took extra work to hear before. Of course, there will be some experimenting with the room now, and further acoustic treatment will be implemented in the the next few weeks.

As for other changes, the entire midi workstation at the studio has been improved, with a more integrated setup, it is now much easier to switch between different controllers or even use them simultaneously. Several new plug-ins have been added to the arsenal, and a few new microphones to try out as well.
